Gator Chess Tournament - Friday, October 21st
The Glenwood Gator Chess Tournament will take place on Friday, October 21st. Top finishers will be invited to join the Glenwood Gator Chess Team. Participants must know how to play a full game of chess and understand standard chess rules. See all the details HERE.
Join us for a fun night out and get a head start on your holiday shopping on Wednesday, November 2nd from 7:00 - 10:00 pm at The Racquets Club of Short Hills PTO.Tickets $35 online or $40 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the PTO. Click HERE for more details.
Thank you everyone who came out to support Glenwood's Walk-a-thon this year supporting the Colon Cancer Alliance, in loving memory of our own Glenwood mom, Joanna Dranikoff. We appreciate all who came out and cheered, walked or ran with the kids! We have raised over $8000 and are nearly at our goal of $10000! If you have not yet turned in your donations, please do so by October 31st either in the envelopes which went home with the kids or online. Thank you to everyone who donated to this incredibly noteworthy cause. Glenwood is proud to be supporting Colon Cancer Alliance!
Chess Lunch Club is a great way for children to play chess with their peers and learn new skills. Registration will be open until October 29th. Glenwood's Chess Lunch Club will be held every Wednesday in the school library during your child's recess from November 2nd to March 29th. The cost is $200 for 16 classes. The 2016-17 Glenwood Variety Show will take place on Thursday, February 2nd and Friday, February 3rd at the Millburn Middle School. Glenwood Bookaneer Book Fair - November 14th - 16th
Please join us for the Glenwood Bookaneer Book Fair and make your child’s reading fun! The Book Fair will be held November 14th – 16th. This year’s book fair will be even bigger than last year - and promises to have a broad selection of books and holiday gifts for you to choose from! There will be many opportunities for you to browse books for your children, their classroom, and the Glenwood library during this 3-day period in November. Click HERE for more details.
Wanted - Variety Show MCs
Is your 5th Grader interested in becoming a Master of Ceremony, Host or Reporter at our Variety Show? If your child is interested in having a speaking role at the Variety Show, please click HERE.
Order your Glenwood snack sack, socks, magnets and more! Still to come, t-shirts and apparel. Items will be delivered to your student's backpack.
It's not too late to order No Fuss Lunch. Lunch may be ordered one day at a time or a week or month in advance. Orders can be placed or changed as late as 10 pm the night before; orders can be cancelled up to 6 am the same day. Click here for more details.

Cultural Arts - Kinobe & AAA Map Reading
Kinobe, a world-touring musician from Uganda, East Africa visited Glenwood School and shared music and stories from his homeland with grades K-5. Click HERE to see more details.

MMAC - Drug Prevention Walk - Saturday, October 22nd
The 2016 Drug Prevention Walk will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at Nomehegan Park, Cranford (1024 Springfield Avenue). The walk takes place between 9:00 and 10:00 am followed by a Family Fun Day from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Click HERE for more details.
MMAC - Red Ribbon Week - October 24th - 28th
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. It is an opportunity for our community to unite and take a visible stand against drugs and underage alcohol use and a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.
Raise awareness of the message of Red Ribbon Week by encouraging your kids to participate by showing their RED RIBBON SPIRIT.
- Monday 10/24 RED-Y TO BE DRUG FREE! Wear something RED to school.
- Tuesday 10/25 TEAM UP AGAINST DRUGS! Wear your favorite team gear to school.
- Wednesday 10/26 ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS! Wear your favorite PJ’s to school.
- Thursday 10/27 DON’T LET DRUGS MIX YOU UP! Wear mismatched clothes, the crazier the better!
- Friday 10/28 SCARE AWAY DRUGS! Wear Black and Orange or a Halloween themed t-shirt (No costumes please.)
